The houses are interesting specimens of street architecture of the beginning of the seventeenth century. They are now about to be demolished." Description by Alfred Marks. Signs read: 'To Let; European; Roast Beef; D. Moss, Glass Manufacturer; John Robbins, Practical Opticians, Educational & Students Microscopes; Shilling Spectacles; Magic Lanterns lent for the evening; Franks Manifold Writers; City Provident Dispensary & Surgical Appliance Association; Woolf Hyman, Fur Manufacturers'.
