Galen and Cicero, c1870. Sculpture of ancient Greek surgeon and philosopher Aelius Galenus (left), and Roman statesman Cicero by J.S. Westmacott. There are 22 sculptures on the façade of 6 Burlington Gardens, an Italianate Grade II*-listed building in Mayfair, designed by Sir James Pennethorne between 1867 and 1870 as headquarters for the University of London. It is currently used by the Royal Academy of Arts.
