Falloux, 1849. Choisi, sous la république, pour être ministre de l'instruction publique, en sa qualité de frère ignorantin. (Chosen under the Republic to be Minister of Public Education in his capacity as an "Ignoratine" brother). French politician and author Frédéric-Alfred-Pierre, comte de Falloux (1811-1886) gave his name to two laws on education, favouring private Catholic teaching.
