The Irish State Coach, Royal Mews London, 1953. Press call in the lead up to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953. From 1861 the Irish State Coach became Queen Victoria's state carriage of choice, as she declined to use the Gold State Coach following the death of Prince Albert. It was used by Queen Elizabeth II for travelling to the state opening of parliament.
