Weaving velvet for the coronation robe, Braintree, Essex, c1953. Expert weaver '...Mrs Hilda Carver has been working on the hand loom since 1914.' Warner & Sons, who had more than 50 years' experience producing textiles for coronation ceremonies, supplied the fabrics for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953.
