House in the Clouds, Thorpeness, Suffolk, c1955. Creator: Arthur Charles Kirby Ware.
Légende
The House in the Clouds is a water tower built in 1923, to incorporate a residential home. The structure was designed to receive water pumped from Thorpeness Windmill, and to improve the look, its tank was disguised with the appearance of a weatherboarded building more in keeping with Thorpeness's mock Tudor and Jacobean style. The house seems to float above the trees due to its height.
