General view of Wilhelmshöhe Palace, at the Prussian city of Kassel, 1870. After being taken prisoner at the Battle of Sedan, Napoleon III was placed under house arrest in the palace, where he arrived on 5 September 1870, remaining there until 19 March 1871, when he left for exile in England. From "Historia de la Guerra de Francia y Prusia" (History of the War between France and Prussia), Volume I, published in Barcelona, 1870.
