Christophe-Montigny Mitrailleuse - Hand-crank operated, back view, 1870. It was developed by the Belgian arms factory of Joseph Montigny between 1859 and 1870. Two ammunition compartments for immediate use were mounted on both sides. From "Historia de la Guerra de Francia y Prusia" (History of the War between France and Prussia), Volume I, published in Barcelona, 1870.
