Légende

Hungarians seize Buda, Hungarian Revolution of 1848, (15 March 1848-4 October 1849), 1856. General Heinrich Hentzi, (1785-1849) mounted a defence on the Buda side of the Danube River in April 1849, locating his headquarters in Buda Castle after the Austrian evacuation of Pest. Hentzi managed to resist the Hungarian siege for over a month, refusing to surrender out of loyalty to Kaiser Franz Joseph I of Austria. At the end of May, Hungarian troops under General Artúr Görgey, (1818-1916) stormed Buda and its castle.
