Allegory of the Confederation of the Rhine, or rather, of the encampment at Boulogne and the intended invasion of England, early 19th century. Hagiographical depiction of Napoleon I as a Roman emperor with laurel wreath and chariot, as heavenly light pours down on him. He is surrounded by angels, goddesses, cherubs playing the lyre and chiselling busts.
