Légende
La tête branlante, 1834. The Loose Head. A crowd watches as a man walks past them carrying the plaster effigy of an obese figure with a wobbly head, sitting on a dish. Although it is seen from behind, the statue clearly represents King Louis-Philippe, as confirmed by the pear on the right, which symbolised his jowly face. The dish is inscribed: 'I am always open to new pleasures'.
