Juan Álvarez Mendizábal, (1790-1853), Spanish politician and financier who had great importance in the Spanish Liberal Revolution, 1853. He was appointed Minister of Finance in July 1835 by the Count of Toreno, a role in which he promoted the ecclesiastical confiscations.
