Confession for amends before the tribunal, 1556, (1878). The condemned person, on his knees, had to confess that he had said or done something against the king's authority or someone's honour, asking for forgiveness from God, to the king and to justice. Facsimile after a woodcut in "Praxis Rerum Criminalium" by Joos de Damhouder (1507-1581), published in Antwerp, 1556.
