Ali ibn Hammud al-Nasir, (d. 1018), Sixth caliph of the Caliphate of Córdoba (1016-1018), 1890. He was appointed governor of Ceuta by Caliph Sulayman al-Musta'in. Ali ibn Hammud conspired against the Caliph Sulayman al-Musta'in and, after gaining entry into Córdoba, was proclaimed Caliph on 1 July 1016. He ordered Sulayman, his father and brother to be imprisoned and killed. "... Seized Sulayman and ordered behead him".
