Lake Windermere, Lake District, c1955. Tourists on a pleasure boat trip on Windermere which is the largest lake in England. Motor Vessel Swan was built in 1938 by Vickers of Barrow-in-Furness, and transported in sections by rail to Lakeside for assembly. She carries up to 533 passengers, and is a member of the National Historic Fleet.
