Ingestre Hall, home of the Earl and Countess of Shrewsbury, Staffordshire, c1950s. Ingestre Hall is a Jacobean stately home built in 1613 for Sir Walter Chetwynd. It was rebuilt early in the 19th century by John Nash after being badly damaged by fire. The estate was sold by the 21st Earl of Shrewsbury in 1960 and today the house is used as a residential arts and conference centre.
