The Crown Equerry, Sir Dermot Kavanagh in the uniform of a Colonel of the 11th Hussars, 1952. Photographed at the Royal Mews, London. The Crown Equerry is head of the Royal Mews Department of the Royal Household. As such, he is responsible for providing vehicular transport for the Sovereign. Sir Dermot Kavanagh held the post from 1941 until 1955.
