Ladies' Page: a charming gown of ivory batiste, 1898. 'For Park and afternoon outdoor wear this...gown of ivory batiste, with bands of light jewelled galon and draperies of wide Alençon, is a vision of summer airy-fairyness; parasol and hat, both built of white chiffon, the latter with feathers en suite, and a waist-belt of green ribbon to complete all. The original of this frock will, weather permitting, disport itself at the Botanic on June 28, a gala occasion both for dogs and their owners.' From Illustrated London News, 1898.
