The Highland Home, 1845. The interior is the simple home of a shepherd, who has returned from his flock to eat a bowl of soup or porridge. On each side of him sits a faithful companion. An elderly woman allows a cat to enter through the door to an adjoining room, where we glimpse a spinning wheel.
