Riva Degli Schiavoni, 1875-1899. Depicting a harbour view from the famous Venetian promenade, the Riva degli Schiavoni. Two women carrying baskets descend the steps alongside the water, while another sits by the water's edge. A rather better dressed man walks up from the foreground. It is a beautiful setting, with clear blue sky only interrupted by the tall, pointed, slightly ragged sails and masts of the ships from the harbour.
