Advertisement for Rough on Rats, 1890. A large rat in spectacles warns smaller rats of the dangers of poison, pointing to 15 cent and 25 cent tins of 'Rough on Rats'. 'TRADE MARK - DON'T DIE IN THE HOUSE - USED BY ALL NATIONS OF THE EARTH - Lecture on "ROUGH ON RATS." - "This Is what killed your poor father. Shun it. Avoid anything containing it throughout your future useful (?) careers. We older heads object to its especial 'Roughness." It also destroys MICE, ROACHES, BUFFALO BUGS, BEETLES, BED BUGS, FLIES, WATER BUGS, CROTON BUGS, MOTH, INSECTS, HEN LICE, POTATO BUGS, SPARROWS, RABBITS, SQUIRRELS, CHIPMUNKS, GOPHERS, CATS. 7½d. and 1s.
