Mr. T. B. Royden, M.P., Mover of the Address in the House of Commons, 1890. Portrait from a photograph by Messrs. Russell and Sons. 'In the House of Commons, the mover of the Address was Mr. T. D. Royden. M.P., and it was seconded by Lord Brooke, M.P. Mr. Thomas Bland Royden was born at Liverpool in 1832, was educated at the Liverpool College, and is a shipbuilder; he is a member of the Liverpool Town Council, and was Mayor of that city in the year 1878-9 ; he is also a Magistrate. Mr. Royden was elected M.P. for the West Toxteth Division of Liverpool in November 1885, and was again returned next year opposed. He has served in the Royal Commissions of Inquiry concerning tonnage and unseaworthy ships, and in the Committee of Inquiry with regard to the load-line'. From "Illustrated London News", 1890.
