First attempt on Alfonso XII's life, as he was parading through the streets of Madrid when he returned from his journey to the North of Spain, Madrid, Spain, 25 October 1878 (1878). Juan Oliva Moncusí (1855-1879), a young cooper, fired a pistol shot at the king in calle Mayor (Main Street), as he was parading through the streets of Madrid when he returned from his journey to the North of Spain.
