Representation of the city of Mexico (Mexico-Tenochtitlan), 1771. Divided into two neighborhoods. One called Tlatelulco (a), where most of the population lived, and the other Mexico (e), where the court and the nobility lived, gave its name to the whole city. From "Historia de la Conquista de México, población, y progresos de la América septentrional, conocida por el nombre de Nueva España" (History of the Conquest of Mexico, population, and progress of northern America, known by the name of New Spain).
