Jack Bain worked for the Bank of Australasia and worked in many branches over his career from the 1920s to his retirement in 1966. The Bank of Australasia building was frist constructed as a timber builiding and burnt down in November 1926. It was rebuilt as a contemporary concrete and timber building and re-opened in 1928. In 1951 the bank changed its name to the ANZ Bank. In 2002 it closed and more to the adjacent builidng wwhen NAB left Toogoolawah.
