Légende
The Virgin of Guadalupe, 17th century. Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Catholic title of the Virgin Mary associated with four Marian apparitions to Nahua peasant Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin and one to his uncle, Juan Bernardino reported in December 1531, when the Mexican territories were part of the Spanish Empire. The image of the Virgin is said to have been miraculously impressed onto Juan Diego's cloak as proof of the authenticity of the apparitions.
