G.F.M. Withers, first Town Clerk of Mosman, 1893-1901. George Withers was Secretary of the Separation Movement lobbying for the establishment of Mosman as a separate municipality from St. Leonards. When this became a reality in 1893, Withers was appointed as Council Clerk, a position he held for eight years.
