Advertisement for Benson's Fine Gold Albert, 1883. 'TO MATCH £10 LADY'S WATCH. Complete, with drop and tassel, £5. Sketches of other patterns forwarded on application. £2 to £20'. An Albert chain, named after Prince Albert, was originally designed to secure a pocket watch to a waistcoat. It features a T-bar on one end to attach to a buttonhole and a swivel hook on the other to hold the watch. From "Illustrated London News", 1883.
