The Market-Place at Esneh, Egypt, 1883. '...worthy of note is Esneh, a town of six thousand people, the capital of its province, enjoying a large trade with the Soudan. Our Artist has sketched a view of the market-place, with the dome and the tower of two mosques, and with the tents and stalls of merchants, some of whom appear to be inspecting carpets or pieces of cloth'.
