Polyptych-Coronation of Mary and Saints: Anthony, Augustine, Blaise, Philip, James the Greater, Lucy, Mary Magdalene, Lawrence, between 1350-1380. Nine preserved paintings of the Venetian polyptych were set in a nineteenth-century neo-Gothic frame, because unfortunately its original architectural setting has not survived, probably full of gilded sculptural elements in the style of flamboyant Venetian Gothic. In the central part of the polyptych there was a painting with the scene of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary. This theme was particularly often taken up by the artists of the Venetian trecento. In the depiction of this scene in the Kraków painting, Christ sits next to the Virgin Mary and, in accordance with the Northern Italian iconographic tradition, puts a crown on her head with one right hand. Above their heads hovers a group of Angels making music. On the eight side paintings there are full-figure images of saints, equipped with customary attributes and with names written on their heads.
