Flight into Egypt, between 1690 -1705. Mary sitting on a donkey with the child in her arms and with Saint Joseph during their journey to Egypt. In the background, we can see a mountainous landscape with a stream and a stone bridge painted in a delicate and light manner, and the sky is covered with grey clouds with rays of the sun breaking through them and illuminating Mary leaning over the Child. The light can be seen as a symbol of God's protection over the Holy Family, who is escaping Herod's persecution.
