Légende

Rome - the arch under which the ancient Appian Way (Via Appia) began, between 1870-1880. Located near the Gate of St. Sebastian. An arcade with a stone "key" in the centre, with side cornices from which a barrel vault climbs upwards. On the sides it has two single columns set back from the face of the main body. The lower and middle sections are made of regular blocks, while the top is merely the so-called "wild wall" - on the sides are later fortification annexes, which have not survived to this day.
