The '...impressive and beautiful ceremonial...took place at the Central Synagogue, in Great Portland-street...Between the ark and the reading-desk stood the bridal canopy, or chupa, supported by four poles, and it was beneath this that the ceremony was solemnised...The religious service...was conducted by the Rev. A. L. Green...Mdlle. Perugia wore white satin trimmed with Mechlin lace...The train was of white satin and Mechlin point. Her veil was of white tulle...The two young daughters of Sir Charles Forbes stood behind the bride; the two other bridesmaids, Mdlle. Beatrice de Rothschild and Miss Luna Sassoon, placed themselves on the right... The bridegroom had on his shoulders a silken scarf...This Talith, or scarf of prayer, is always given by the bride to her bridegroom...The bridegroom's "best man" was his...brother, Mr. Alfred de Rothschild. Baron Arthur and Baron E. de Rothschild, M. Perugia, and M. Lambert placed themselves at the four corners of the canopy. Madame Perugia, the bride's mother, and M. G.
