Marriage of Baroness Burdett-Coutts and Mr. W. Ashmead-Bartlett, on Saturday last, 1881. 'The Baroness Burdett-Coutts, so long and so well known as the munificent benefactress of the poorer classes in London, and as the liberal patroness of many charitable and benevolent institutions and missions for different objects of religious and philanthropic zeal, married Mr. William Lehmann Ashmead- Bartlett on Saturday last. The wedding ceremony took place at Christ Church, Down-street, Piccadilly, which is the nearest to her Ladyship's [London] town-house. The bridegroom, accompanied by Mr. Lacaita, as his best man, and Mr. Bryant, arrived at the church precisely at half-past eleven...her three bridesmaids...[were] the Misses Burdett, daughters of Sir Francis, and Miss Maria Keppel, daughter of Admiral the Hon. Sir Henry and Lady Keppel. The bride wore a robe of ivory-white satin, her head being covered by a lace veil; and the bridesmaids wore cream-white dresses. The religious service was performed by the Rev. William Cardall, M.A., incumbent, assisted by the Rev. Henry White, M.A., Chaplain of the Chapel Royal, Savoy, and Chaplain in Ordinary to the Queen'.
