The Tourist in Iceland: old windmill, Reykjavik, 1881. 'The windmill at Reykjavik, of which one of our travelling Artists once made a Sketch, has evidently seen its best days; in fact, it is no longer a windmill, but serves for a dwelling-house, and only the skeleton of its huge vanes, which will soon be taken down for firewood, hangs upon the upper tower. The town of Reykjavik, situated in latitude 64 deg. 8 min. north, at the south-west corner of that large island in the North Atlantic Ocean, midway between Europe and America, may be considered rather out of the world. It has about two thousand inhabitants'. From "Illustrated London News", 1881.
