Interior, Church of Santa Cristina de Lena, Pola de Lena, Asturias, Spain, 9th century, (2008). Pre-Romanesque temple built in the 9th century. Erected during the Ramirense period, ie the reign of Ramiro I (842-850), or that of his successor Ordoño I (850-866). The church consists of a single rectangular vaulted nave. View of the iconostasis, formed of a triple arcade supported by columns with Corinthian capitals, and the double Visigothic doorway. Behind is the presbytery.
