Spanish-American War: the battleship cruiser "Vizcaya" on its way to New York, 1898. The "Vizcaya" (1894) of the Spanish Navy was sent to New York as an interchange because of the friendly visit of the USS Maine to Havana. After the sinking of the Maine, the Vizcaya returned to Spain, joining Admiral Cervera's squadron to fight in the Cuban War. From "La Ilustración Española y Americana", 1898.
