Awarding of prizes during the Floral Games at the auditorium of the Central University, Madrid, Spain, April 28, 1878. Spanish royals presided over the act. The Marquis of Valmar, chairman of the judges, reading an allusive speech at the solemn event. Floral Games were any of a series of historically related poetry contests with floral prizes.
