Source, July 23, 1896 A small stream tumbles in cascades from severe, rocky slopes towards the foreground. The dark green shrubs growing on the shady banks contrast with the sunlit expanse of a meadow. The tightly cropped composition focuseses the viewer's attention on the foreground with the bright sun playing on the wildflowers and the surface of the water.
