Zeller from Jean-Galbert Salvage's engraved plates of the skeletal and myologic structures of the 'Borghese Gladiator' anatomised, published in his "Anatomie du gladiateur combatant", (Anatomy of the Fighting Gladiator), [Paris, 1812]. The Borghese Gladiator is a life-sized Hellenistic marble sculpture portraying a swordsman, made at Ephesus c100 BC, now on display at the Louvre.
