Légende
Monument in memory of Princess Hohenlohe-Langenburg, 1874. 'A monument has been designed by his Serene Highness Count Gleichen, Prince Victor of Hohenlohe, to be placed over the grave of his mother, Princess Hohenlohe-Langenburg, sister of Queen Victoria, in the cemetery at Baden-Baden. She died on Sept. 23, 1872. The design represents a beautiful female figure, an embodiment of the soul, who is seated at the foot of a large upright cross. The monument being in situ, the face of the figure is turned to the charming little villa, two miles distant from the cemetery, in which this Princess resided during many years, and where she breathed her last. Our Engraving is from a photograph of the monument by Mr. John Watkins, of Parliament-street'. From "Illustrated London News", 1874.
