Nutmeg Tree, c1824. Myristica fragrans Houtt. (Myristicaceae). Myristica fragrans was given a binomial name by the Dutch botanist Maartyn Houttuyn in 1774. From an album of 40 drawings made by Chinese artists at Bencoolen, Sumatra, for Sir Stamford Raffles.
