Ther Idol Kivvasa, (Kiwasa) 1618. Engraving of an idol, seated in a circular tent made from segments of woven cane or matting. The idol has hair tied in a knot above the head, and a four-strand necklace of beads around the neck. It is wearing a close fitting jerkin, open at the front, and fringed skin apron-skirt. The idol is four feet high, and kept in the temple of the town of Secota, as the guardian of the royal corpses. From Travels through Virginia.
