Stefánik's tomb on Bradlo Hill, 1920. Milan Rastislav Stefánik (1880-1919) was a Slovak politician, diplomat, aviator and astronomer. During World War I, he served at the same time as a general in the French Army and as Minister of War for Czechoslovakia. Stefánik was killed in a plane crash. His tomb is located at Brezová pod Bradlom in the Myjava District of western Slovakia, at the western foothills of the Little Carpathians.
