The date of the events presented is the beginning of the last Century, when England was at war with Napoleon, and an invasion threatened. The action takes place in or near the fashionable watering place of "Budmouth" on the South Coast, a favourite resort of King George the Third and his Court; in which the audience will recognise a town and bay at no great distance. (Presented by the Dorchester Debating Society)...A Special Matinee will be given in aid of the Funds of the Dorchester and District Rifle Club...The Corn Exchange will be darkened for this performance...'.
