Copy of Caxton's first edition of Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales", 1476. This book was bound, probably in the late 18th century, for King George III, as can be seen from his coat of arms and initials G R (Georgius Rex) on the front cover. George III was an avid collector of books, spending some £2000 a year on his library.
