Légende
King Arthur's coronation, 14th century. Geoffrey of Monmouth's legendary history of Britain was popularised by a poet called Wace, who in about 1155 produced a French poem called Brut, after Brutus, the supposed founder of Britain, which drew heavily on Geoffrey's work. The legend of the round table makes its first appearance in Wace. From Romances in French verse.
