The Breakfast, 1842. A young married couple (an East India Company civil servant and his wife) breakfasting on fried fish, rice and Sylhet oranges, with servants in attendance. The lady of the house feeds titbits to a dog by her feet. The table is set with china, and family portraits hang on the wall.
