Four scenes from the Old Testament, c1300-c1330. On the top left men are building Pharoah's cities. On the top right is a scene depicting the bondage of the Israelites. On the bottom left is the plague of blood; one of the plagues sent by God to punish the Egyptians for persecuting the Iraelites. On the bottom right is Aaron's snake. Before the pharaoh and his servants Aaron's rod becomes a snake, to prove to the pharaoh that Moses and himself had been sent by God to lead the Israelites to freedom.
