Captain Georges Costententus, The Tattooed Man at the Royal Aquarium in London, 1881. George Costentenus (born 1833 in Albania, then part of the Ottoman Empire) was a circus performer and travelling attraction who was tattooed over his entire body. He claimed to have been kidnapped by Chinese Tartars and tattooed against his will. He was managed by Signor Guillermo Farini, a.k.a William Hunt.
